About Me

Inspired by Maximalist art, my Rosie Smith Fine Art illustrations and wallpaper patterns can be described as an ornate Baroque style brimming with energetic scrollwork and elegant botanicals of the Art Nouveau era.
I have delighted in the creative process of drawing and painting by utilizing traditional methods in a romantic, classical style for decades. Considering myself primarily a self-taught artist, I have studied at Kent State University as well as learned from a Realism master who taught an Old World Flemish oil painting technique, Frank Dale of Massillon, Ohio.
For the last several years, I have embraced modern digital art tools by applying my knowledge of the Classical arts with a stylus and tablet device, appreciating the creativity and convenience within graphic design software. My original hand drawn illustrations using simple pencil and paper are uploaded and perfected by continuing the drawings, this time with a stylus. Finally, the artwork is digitally "polished" and rendered into a cohesive repeat form.
After creating several collections of elaborate designs over the last few years, I am excited to debut my illustrations in a bespoke custom colorization line of large framed fine art prints, wallpaper patterns, and window roller shades exclusively for hotel hospitality commercial interior spaces, and I am looking forward to working directly with you.
